Oh, ok. When i suggested the other pairings you said This much I agree with [the friendship's necessary but not sufficient]. The other [other pairings I saw equally as likely], not so much, but that's more a question of how we view the characters, not the story. I took that to mean that you indeed did see a connnection between McShep that the others didn't have, not that you wouldn't be interested in the story (which I more than likely wouldn't be either).
I wonder whether this post was a real example of the academic vs fannish interpretation. I doubt these discussions would have looked the same if I'd suggested an alternate reading of McBeth, y'know :) [alixtii sadly isn't watching this, but I'm invoking his How Many Children icon now :)]
