I was like you in previous fandoms (especially Smallville, where I could read Lex as savior of kittens and Lex as Lucifer's agent back to back with no problem), but my interest in SGA is much more overpowering. I despair, sometimes, but I do notice these things and they do affect my opinion of different stories.
