well, they can, which is when they end up on our rec pages...but there are stories that hit all your kinks and that you'll read even though you *know* they're not good (at least, it is that way for me)...and i know i'm not the only one with her cache of guilty pleasures that she only admits to in whispers...

i wonder when fandom became all about quality and looking good and not about revelling in the deepest parts of our desires.... [and i don't mean sex but the excessive emotional over the top navel gazing that i remember from old style fandoms yet wouldn't dare to rec these days...]
