yes..that's what i meant (and expressed badly): slash tropes require a slash story to be about the pairing and since this story doesn't have it at the center it doesn't "feel" like slash...if slash is defined as a generic term rather than simply fanfic with guy on guy loving... [and i'm a firm believer in fanfic as genre!!!]
