Yes, Pru has a very negative view of McKay. But it's not actually the fault of the story, it's just how she sees him. She posted a separate post about this in her journal, outlining that she has a more negative view on him than most of the fandom - and that she wonders why so many people like/love him.
That is an interesting insight into the thought process of the author, but, unfortunately, we don't share those, here. As it says in the guidelines, we focus on the story as presented, not on what's going on in the author's head (even when she's presented her processes publicly, elsewhere) because we're reacting to the story as presented, here, on its own merits, and because the authors are not allowed to participate in the discussions, so cannot refute anything that's said when someone speaks for them; if someone shares something that's not actually, or entirely, correct, that could be very frustrating for the author. So, please don't share insights into the author's reasoning but focus solely on the story, as it stands.
