But, yes, I can manage technobabble, but that's all it is--I'm a fair way to being a know-nothing where actual science is concerned. So things get by me all the time, which is probably a good thing for my enjoyment of media. *g* If it makes me say, wow, that's cool, then it's working for me--when reading, though, not when writing. And it's usually the stand-out SF elements that do that for me, like the mecha or cyborgs (or funny robots, which I enjoy, though The Doctor hates them), rather than background SF like wormholes or warp drive. By my definition, that is--the neurotech of Dearest could be what you mean, as well, and that works for me, too.
